Destination: The entrance to the Arcachon Basin with its exceptional environment…

The Conche du Mimbeau is a small cove surrounded by a sand dune, which separates the Arcachon Basin from the Ferret peninsula. In fact it is a small peninsula in the Ferret peninsula. This dune is 800 m long by 30 m wide, but just like Cap Ferret, the Conche du Mimbeau is threatened by erosion.

An ideal place for a stroll, provided you have good shoes to avoid injuries caused by the many shells and prickly plants such as thistle.

In this haven of peace, there are: sand dunes, salt meadows, and also pines.

You can also admire the small fishing boats on the water, as well as the pinnaces, typical boats of the Basin.

A stop at the “Maison du Mimbeau” in the south of the conch, the ideal place to taste oysters or any other seafood of absolute freshness, is essential.

While enjoying these tasty agape, you will be charmed by the environment, the Dune du Pilat in front of you, the passes and the sand bank of Arguin and the Ocean as far as the eye can see.
